Design Assurance & Coordination

Contractor Design Review & Assurance – Collaboration with IDNOs and Utility Clients (e.g., datacentres) to review and assure contractor designs.

Electrical & Plant Design

  • Plant Layout Design – Early-stage collaboration with clients and architects from concept through build stage, including detailed electrical engineering for High Voltage systems (EHV 400kV/275kV, HV 132kV).
  • Cable Design (Up to 400kV) – Tender stage support with cable sizing, desktop feasibility studies, indicative trench profiles, detailed engineering including cable routes, bonding diagrams, induced voltage calculations, and trench design using DNO/NG approved software.
  • Protection Design – Development of protection line diagrams, network assistance, detailed AC/DC schematics, and cable termination workbooks.

Civil & Mechanical-Electrical (M&E) Design

  • Civil Design Services – Concept stage surveys, 2D/3D drawings, modeling, detailed design, and calculations through to build stage.
  • M&E Design – HVAC system design, flood reports, risk assessments, heating and lighting solutions for buildings and switch rooms compliant with relevant standards.

Power System Studies & Analysis

  • Load Flow and Power Flow Optimization Studies : Analyze and optimize active and reactive power flows, voltage profiles, and system losses to enhance network performance and stability.
  • Short Circuit and Fault Level Analysis : Determine fault currents and assess switchgear ratings to ensure protection devices can safely interrupt faults.
  • Protection Coordination and Relay Setting Studies : Develop and verify relay settings and protection schemes to guarantee selective fault isolation and minimize equipment damage.
  • Harmonic and Power Quality Analysis : Evaluate harmonic distortions and voltage imbalances to maintain power quality and comply with standards.
  • Insulation Coordination and Transient Overvoltage Studies : Assess system insulation levels against transient overvoltages from lightning, switching events, and fault conditions, recommending mitigation measures when necessary.
  • Transformer Inrush and Motor Starting Studies : Analyze transient phenomena during transformer energization and motor starts to prevent system disturbances and ensure reliability.
